| For the implementation of very complex digital circuits, we can deploy on or more FPGA chips, programmed in VHDL. These are programmable chips with digital logic. Manufacturers have made these chips with a range of capacities and special features, so that they are usable in various applications. Very complex and fast acting logic can be realized, but also algorithmic logic like digital filtering. |

Advantages of this technology:
- Design in VHDL (generic design language) allows a choice between different FPGA/ASIC vendors.
- Very large and complex designs are feasible with only a single chip (up to milions of logic gates).
- High speed switching.
- Small compact circuits.
- Easy to extend functionality, without designing a new PCB.

| Using development tools, the required functionality is designed and programmed into the chip(s). Currently our most frequently used FPGA's come from Xilinx and Altera. With parts from these manufacturers, we have realized our complex designs. |
